Francesca De Grandis AKA Outlaw Bunny is a busy rabbit. For 20+ years, she’s been a grassroots minister and spiritual healer who helps people of all faiths—and those who are just fine without one—through pastoral counseling and classes. Her goal in this is to help others find both personal fulfillment and the power to make a difference in the world. She adds, “I don’t try to be everything to everybody. I do help a lot of people find their everything—the huge world inside them and around them.”

She’s a Renaissance woman. She’s obviously an eccentric. She’s effective: First as a shamanpoet who passed on her work orally, then as a published author, she’s been a seminal influence on the literary and spiritual culture of earth-based spirituality, alternative thought, and self-help.

Many of her poems—prayers, rituals, liturgy, meditations, lectures (often presented as prose)—anonymously entered the oral and written literature of earth-centered and “new” spirituality. So have her innovative techniques. More important, people get real help from her.

It is time for women to take back the tradition of passing on our teachings to those who will follow us as we move into the future. HerStory calls all women to unite in a spirit of mentorship. Let’s share the medicine we have gathered on our Earth-Walk with our young sisters just beginning their walkabout. Every woman has a teaching to share that was earned by staring fear in its wild face so she could return to her beating heart.

We must awaken and remember who we were born to be. We are more than a narrow definition of beauty. We are a spark that can grow into a flame that will set the world ablaze. We stand tall when we stand together.

Change begins close at home. It starts with the woman staring back at you in the mirror. An important piece of the HerStory vision is to launch a global revolution through the power of our consumerism. It’s important that we become more conscious consumers and consider what message our dollars are supporting. If we work together, we can shift the tide in an affirmative direction for women everywhere.
